Machine manufacturers using transfer applications in combination with
various types of guides, can now realise long term benefits, with the
launch of the latest magnetically coupled rodless cylinder from
automation control leaders SMC Pneumatics. Series CY3, with its
improved durability and lower operating pressures has the same mounting
dimensions as the previously existing CY1 product and is therefore fully
interchangeable. They are currently available in two options, the
CY3B basic type and the CY3R for direct mounting. These compact
magnetically coupled rodless cylinders have added features including a
70% enlarged wear ring to improve the bearing function and a special
soft resin wiper on the dust seal to achieve ideal lubrication on the
cylinder tube. Both of these changes result in increased operational
performance and improved product life span. By adopting this new soft
wiper, the minimum operating pressure has also been reduced by 30% over
the previous CY1 cylinder. Series CY3B is now manufactured in Australia.
Both options are available in bore sizes from 6 to 63 mm in stroke
lengths to suit customer specifications.
